Follow

 Follow and be followed

The "follow for follow" is the basic technique of fans of social networks and, in particular, the most used technique on Instagram: follow me, I follow you, simple, clear and perhaps effective... But let's go step by step.

The first reason you might do this, especially if you're trying to grow your profile, is to let everyone know that your account follows those who follow it. But the initial problem would be: is this really what you want for your business? Are you aspiring to have more followers? Are you interested in this information? And if so, why?

Following to be followed involves following others in a non-selective way. Having a profile with a lot of followers, on a first superficial analysis, gives you a bit of credibility by giving you the “interesting profile” label. But this is not always the case and, above all, it may not be enough.

Do you follow someone without knowing why?

Starting to follow anyone who follows you or giving our follow almost blindly has consequences. First of all, we would end up having our Instagram feed invaded by content that does not interest us.

Another consequence? We will have followers who are not interested in our content and who probably have no interest in liking our posts or interacting with us. And to conclude, any inexperienced eye will notice that the followers do not respond to any specific objective, nor to a choice of tastes.

So our advice is not to overdo this strategy. This does not mean that you never follow anyone back, but rather that you evaluate the profile before deciding to start following them.
